# Quick Guide

## Configure Dashboards in Fours Console

The **Analytics** page in the Fours console shows the dashboards you pin. Dashboards are created in Fours Analytics, a separate analytics workspace that opens in a new browser tab; you then pin the ones you want to see in the console.

```d2
direction: down
create: "Create dashboard\non the Analytics page"
workspace: "Fours Analytics\n(new browser tab)"
shared: "Public dashboards shared\nwith your organization"
choose: "Choose dashboards\n(Manage dashboards)"
tabs: "Pinned dashboards,\none tab each on\nthe Analytics page"
create -> workspace: "opens"
workspace -> choose: "your organization's\ndashboards"
shared -> choose: "also listed"
choose -> tabs: "Pin"
```

1. **Open Analytics**

   Select **Analytics** in the left navigation of the [Fours Console](https://console.suger.io/analytics). You can pin existing dashboards — including public dashboards shared with your organization — or create your own. Until you pin a dashboard, the page shows **No dashboards pinned** with two buttons, **Choose dashboards** and **Create dashboard**.

2. **Create New Dashboards**

   To create a custom dashboard, click **Create dashboard**. Fours Analytics opens in a new browser tab; [Craft Dashboards](/analytics/craft-dashboards/) walks through creating charts there and assembling them into a dashboard.

3. **Exploring Dashboards**

   Click **Choose dashboards** to pick the dashboards that appear on your Analytics page — see [Pin a Dashboard in Fours Console](/analytics/craft-dashboards/#pin-a-dashboard-in-fours-console). Each pinned dashboard opens as a tab above the dashboard area; click a tab to switch between dashboards and explore them further. Your pins are your own: they don't change what your teammates see.

### If a dashboard doesn't load

- **Couldn’t load dashboards** means Fours couldn't load your pinned dashboards. Click **Try again**.
- **Dashboard unavailable** means the selected dashboard couldn't be opened. If the message reads **We couldn’t open this dashboard. Try loading it again.**, click **Load again**. If it reads **This dashboard is not configured for embedding.**, unpin the dashboard in **Choose dashboards** and pin it again.
- If you see **Couldn’t open the analytics workspace. Please try again.**, click **Create dashboard** again.
- A pinned dashboard that was deleted in Fours Analytics, or a dashboard another organization shared publicly and has since made private, is removed from your tabs automatically.
- A dashboard you leave open keeps working: Fours renews its access in the background while you stay signed in, so you don't need to reload the page.

## Filters

Fours provides two types of filters to help you refine the data shown on your dashboards:

- **Static Filters**:
  These filters are typically placed at the top of the dashboard and are authored by the dashboard designer. They are usually required for viewing certain data, ensuring that users can filter by essential parameters like date range, region, or specific partners.

- **Interactive Filters**:
  These filters allow users to click directly on parts of the charts (such as sections of a pie chart or data points on a bar chart) to dynamically apply filters.
  For example, clicking on "AWS" in a “Revenue by Partners” pie chart applies a dynamic filter of `partner=AWS` to all related charts on the dashboard.

### Common Filters

- **As Of Date**:
  This filter snapshots your data at a specific point in time, allowing you to compare dashboards and reports across different dates. You can set the “As Of Date” to view historical data, providing consistency across time periods.

- **Partners**:
  Filter data by cloud partners, such as AWS, GCP, or Azure, to narrow down insights by specific partners.

## View as Table

All charts within the dashboard can be viewed as tables, providing a detailed, raw data view behind the visualizations. This option is useful for users who want to analyze data at a granular level, such as verifying numbers or conducting deeper analysis beyond the chart.

## Export and Download

Fours allows you to download data and visualizations in various formats:

- **Export to CSV or Excel**:
  You can export chart data to CSV or Excel for further analysis or reporting.

- **Download Chart Images**:
  If you need to share or present charts, you can download them as images to include in reports, presentations, or other documents.
